the rottweiler's: first practice

Our first practice went really, really well!!  Heath was the cutest coach ... EVER!!!  The kids loved him and so did the parents.  I'm not surprised, he's just one of those people, that you can't help but love and respect.

The team decided on The Rottweiler's and Sarge is our mascot.  Logan ended up doing pretty well at 2nd base, so Heath may just keep him there.  It would be nice, if he did, because otherwise, he gets bored.  He hated playing out field AND he doesn't have the best arm, so keeping him busy at 2nd base is probably a smart idea.  Kinda wish he took after me and played catcher.  It was my fave position and the one I was best at.  Sure brings back memories of playing ball with my Dad.

Logan did well ... I DID catch him swatting bugs while playing 2nd base. Heath was like, "really??"  Ha ha.  Totally my kid!  The picture's a little blurry, but I was trying to hurry and snap the picture!

We have some great kids and parents on our team.  We were all surprised at how well the kids did, considering 80% of them have never played baseball before.  There are some dad's on the team who are great assistant coaches and they all really work well together and bring such different perspectives to the team.  I think we're going to have a GREAT year!!  Our first game is March 31.

**FUNNY STORY**
Logan was standing right on the actual base so Heath asked him to move over.  He picked up the base and started walking.  Oh my heck ... me and Heath were dying!  It was so cute and someday will make for a funny story to tell him ... but probably not any time soon. :)

Team huddle with Coach Felix and Coach Mike, too

Not so great magic trick

So Logan puts a car under a mug (while Heath is watching) then attempts to shuffle them around to see if Heath can guess which cup it's in....really Logan?! Such a blondie!

in the room of a pre teen

I was cleaning up Logan's room for him, while he was away, when I stopped to look around and take it in.  He's such a sentimental child yet he's becoming a teenager.  He spends a lot of time in his room, with the door closed, so I don't know what he's always up to.

I thought I'd document what I appreciated about Logan.  Some of the things that caught my eye:

- We let him grafitti the wall, outside his window, so he didn't have to look at a brick wall.  Funny- he grafitti's about Sarge and California.
- His scriptures are on top of everything, like was reading them.
- The sand jar from our wedding is on top of his desk
- He loves golf and he was given a book by John Bytheway about golf
- A box my mom made for him with the plans for a family airplane that my grandfather and great grandfather built
- His letter to Santa (he doesn't believe in, any more).  He asks for a Lamborghini that I can take him to school in.
- Kanka-Aide

only hippies care about love

This morning, on the way to school, Logan asked, "Why does everyone sing about love? Boys...girls...everyone. That's why I like Hollywood Undead {his favorite band right now}, they sing about everything else, besides love". I told him, "What's that hippy song? All you need is love?". Logan, "Exactly. Only hippies care about love".

Ha! I had to snap a picture to document this conversation. Oh...in a few years, he's going to be hormone crazed and loving girls!! This entry will be useful to have :)
