Mother's Day at the lake

This Mother's Day was super fun...and totally different than anything we have done in the past.

Heath rented a boat and took the day off to take me to the lake for the day! We had Scott and Lindsay B come too. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast!

Lunch buddies

Addi asked Heath to come have lunch with her. This was the text I got....

Love these two!!!

Logan's Patriotic Program {May 9}

Logan played Henry Ford this year and gave a little speech about Mr Ford. He did awesome!

At the end, the 5th and 6th Grades had each branch of the military stand, separately, and they sang their anthem to them. I cried (shocker). At this performance only Dad Kuhn was able to make it so the kids sang to him for his service in the Air Force. It was so special. Logan said he couldn't even look at Papa or he'd cry.

They even match!

Addi's Patriotic Program {May 8}

Yes! The first part of May was ridiculously crazy...plus trying to finish up the school year with good grades and keeping the kids on top their school work.

My favorite part of Challenger Basics School is Patriotic Week! The programs are so touching and it's so nice to see schools encouraging supporting your military.

This year was extra special. Mom and Dad Kuhn were here to attend (instead of getting a million pictures and videos via email) and Debbie came too!! That made Addi feel extra special. So thankful for supportive family!

Addi even had a speaking part!

Addi gets braces!!! {May 7}

Addi was beyond thrilled to {finally} get braces!! It's been a long time coming and a long (unnecessary) fight with her Dad. Heath and my mom were able to come and support Ads, too!  In addition to getting braces on, Addi ended up needing 2 permanent teeth pulled and an expander put on. Poor thing. She was in so much pain. She's a trooper though and is looooving her new smile already!

Afterwards....still drugged up!

Accident and Jake's Mission Call {late April}

In the same day...

On our way to have dinner with the entire family before Jake opens his mission call and we get into an accident in a parking lot in Queen Creek. A large truck was backing up and didn't see us and plowed right into the side of our vehicle as we were trying to go down the aisle.  I was livid ....he had no I insurance and because it was on private property, there is no criminal act since you don't have to have insurance to drive on private property. MCSO came out, but there was nothing we could do. To top it off, the guy was a jerk!

Jake got his mission call to Mexico!! An area I can't pronounce so I won't even pretend to :)

New Goals!

2 posts since 2013 began? What the....!!!?? Very sad! My new goal is to post each week. We definitely have enough going on to post each week!

In January, I was hired by Tempe Police Department for 911 call taker and Police Dispatcher. The training has been overwhelming and I'll admit, I've cried a few times. I work with a lot of great folks, though, and love what I'm doing now. 4, 10hr days is definitely a different pace for me.

In February, I missed the annual Cabin trip. So did all the other "regulars". Heath ms friend Steve passed away on the weekend we were supposed to go. When we rescheduled, nobody else was able to go either. Heath took the kiddos instead. But....before they went, me and Heath went up for a ski trip, just the two of us, and we hung our plaque Heath made me for our anniversary!! It was super fun and romantic. On our way home, Heath tried to show me A1 Lake that he used to fish with Grandpa Morris at....and we got stuck. Literally stuck!! Thank goodness the guy ice fishing on the lake, came walking back to his truck to check on it because he saw us walking around. He thought we were trying to break into his truck. Luckily, he was able to pull us out.

In March, Heath tuned 35. Kaiden came over for a few days during his Spring Break. It was the first time he was able to attend the Morris Easter Egg Hunt. I think he had a lot of fun! I'm bummed, I missed it this year...the first year I've missed it. In March, Heath set up a ride along for me with Mesa Air. It was amazing!!! To combine my love for flying and police work...I was one happy girl!! We have been going at Cross Fit hard. Heath is doing a body fat challenge with our Box. He's done sooo good. I'm so proud of him. He looks amazing and seems to be in a much better mood, too! My sister and her hubby came to visit. It was so fun to see them and catch up in person. They are pregnant with a girl ( due near Addi's birthday). It was fun to see the kids try and help them think of names. March was also the month for the kids' Public Safety Day. Heath brought the DPS Camero had Mesa Air do a fly over. The kids loved it!!!

Now it's April....AIMS testing this week...starting to plan summer trips and summer birthday parties! The year has been flying by.
